“It looked like a child’s colouring book where you can’t go over the lines – but the consequences of any inaccuracy would be more serious” – Rob Stepney.

Medical writer Rob Stepney was diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer in 2011, but radical treatment wasn’t required for ten years. Here he discusses his experiences as part of a clinical trial in Oxford, where he received treatment using the MRIdian – a new cutting-edge machine that combines MRI technology with radiotherapy. Through trials like this, researchers are able to produce the clinical evidence required to show how this ground-breaking technology is safe, effective and will ultimately allow us to improve outcomes in cancers previously considered difficult to treat.
