Heidi Johansen-Berg

Brain Scientist

Heidi was not interested in science at school but was interested in human behaviour.  She went to the University of Oxford to study Psychology and Philosophy and realised that to understand human behaviour you had to understand how the brain works.  This led her into neuroscience and she now uses brain scanners to study how the brain changes with learning and recovery from damage. She enjoys getting involved in public events about the brain and recently co-wrote and performed in a play about the history of brain imaging.
